The birding pages of Tim and Marg Roberts

About us!

We live about half way between Brisbane and Ipswich, a couple of streets away from the Brisbane River. We have been interested in birds for a long time, but a Christmas present subscription to Wingspan, from a relative a few years ago, coupled with the fact that we are now "empty nesters", re-kindled our interest.

A few outings with Birds Queensland and Toowoomba Bird Observers, during which we were made to feel very welcome despite our relative inexperience, confirmed our interest. Our thanks goes to these two groups in particular for supporting our interest. We can personally recommend both groups to anyone unsure as to how to get started with birding in SE Queensland.

We both enjoy nature via walks in accessible and relatively inaccessible areas, so birding adds another dimesion and further purpose to our trips.

Eremaea Birds was very useful to us in finding out what birds had been seen at various sites. The Eremaea database has been transferred to E-Bird, which is now the central database for birding observations in Australia.

We offer the following pages to birders - some will already know the places and information, some will not.

Mark's Maps. These deserve their own link as Mark Roberts (no relation) has produced numerous maps of parks and reserves that can readily be used for information about sites that you may be interested in.
